Lucky 13 Tattoo is a professional tattoo studio. Our artists are highly skilled and experienced in providing unique and custom designs to our clients.
You can book an appointment at Lucky 13 Tattoo by visiting our website and filling out the online booking form, OR via Instagram/Facebook, OR by sending us a message on WhatsApp - 0763979329.
We can't take bookings over the phone but you can call us on 01162700558 for any other enquiries.
We will require a deposit to secure your appointment, this will come off the final amount you pay on the day and will be non-refundable.
Moisturise your skin a few days prior to your appointment as the this will help with the tattooing process.
Make sure you eat prior to your appointment as this will help prevent you from feeling uneasy during the tattoo
Avoid drinking alcohol for a minimum of 48 hours of your appointment as this will thin your blood and affect the application and healing process of your tattoo.
Avoid anti-inflammatory painkillers for at least 24 hours as this will also thin your blood.
Make sure you wear loose fitting/comfortable clothing that you don't mind possibly getting ink on. We want you to be 100% comfortable during your appointment and the artist needs to be able to access the area with ease.
Feel free to bring a travel pillow or a blanket for comfort.
We do play music in the studio but you are more than welcome to bring along your own headphones if you want to get into your own zone.
Bring along drinks and snacks especially for longer tattoo appointments. Being tattooed can affect your energy levels so having a boost during this will stop you from feeling unwell.
Be vocal if you need a break. If you need to stop at any point during your tattoo for any reason just let your artist know.
Upon booking your tattoo we will ask for references to bring your ideas into life.
We will typically show you the design once your arrive for your appointment and at this point you can make any adjustments that you may want to add within reason.
Always be open to advice from your tattoo artist as they know what will look/fit best or how something might look once healed.
You can purchase numbing cream from the studio that you can apply a maximum of 2 hours prior to your appointment.
For the cream to work you need to apply a generous layer, do not rub it in and then follow by wrapping the area in cling film
If you purchase your own please let the tattoo artist know you have numbed the area. We recommend using TKTX gold purchased either from us or their official website.
We can also apply a numbing spray during the tattoo process on the opened skin to help take the edge off.
Please bear in mind using numbing products can affect the application and healing process of the tattoo. If you have concerns after using numbing products contact your artist with pictures.
Once your tattoo is completed your tattoo artist will clean the area and apply a tattoo aftercare butter which then would be wrapped in clingfilm.
This would then need to be kept on for a maximum of two hours to let the skin settle.
Remove the cling film and wash the area with either a tattoo soap or a mild fragrance free soap.
Pat down with either a paper towel or air dry. Please do not rub the area dry.
Finish off by applying a balm to keep the tattoo moisturised and soft to prevent it drying out and cracking. You can purchase our sponsored YAYO butter or we'd recommend coco/coconut butter. Do this 2-3 times a day.
If your tattoo looks dry or scabs please avoid picking as this will pull out the ink and reduce the quality of the tattoo.
Second skin- instead of the above process we can apply a dermalise skin. This can be left on for up to 5 days and will protect the area and allow it to heal itself. To remove the second skin layer you need to try a peel a corner and pull upwards towards the skin (just like a command strip). Removing the skin in the shower makes this process easier. After the skin is removed pat dry and apply your YAYO butter to rehydrate.
For other day to day activities we recommend avoiding baths/hot tubs for 2 weeks to allow the tattoo to heal correctly.
Also be mindful about any strenuous exercises the will pull at the area or get sweat into the tattoo.
When booking in for your tattoo we recommend sending over reference images of the idea you are wanting tattooed. This way we can give you a more accurate quote.
Please also provide us with size as this will also help us to determine how long it might take and how much the overall cost will be.
Here at Lucky 13 we have a minimum set up cost of £60 for anything under an hours worth of work and an hourly rate of £70 over an hours worth of work.
Some artists might put available designs up at set prices. These prices are priced at what the artist will charge for that design based on size they have drawn it up as and how long they think it will take.
